Bates' summary and forecast:— The weather on the East Const between East C.ipe sndivaikoura has c-ntimied cloudy and chilly and showery' in ij<irts, but the weather las been generally f ir elsewhere with littlo movement of tbe barometer. A storm area appears to bo approaching thi > country southward of Kawhia and Castlo Point, and the barometer w : ]l probably fall soon everywhere, and especially in the couth with freshening north winds and unsettled find hazy weather. But there aro indications for f;iir neither and moderate winds in tho north.
