CLASSIFICATION OF TEACHERS

(Per Press Association). NEW.PLYMUTH, April 27. At a meeting of the Taranaki Education Board the 'Board's inspectors, Mesirs W. A. Ballantyne and R. G. Whetter, reported on the question of tlu classification of teachers. They recommended that the, following scheme be adopted as a basis of classification with, a total of 100 marks:— Service, 10 marks (two yeara 1 mark), academic attainment 15 marks, teachers proficiency 40 marks, personality (including tone, tact, influence', aaid thoroughness) 20 marks, organisation 10 marks.
