Bates', summary and forecast:— The barometer has fallen everywhere for « westerly nre» of lc% pressure, but a tihnrp rise took place in the south last night, < and was accompanied by high southerly, winds and heavy rain in parts. The barometer has fallen agaii to-day, and present indications are for westerly winds, strong ta gale, ram m most parts of the colony, snow on the higher level-?, ,and colder weatlfcr following the lowest baronieteric piessuro is due to oass in the south af . fcer about 18 hours.
