(To the Editor.) •„•• -■
Sir,— The committee of the St. To'in Ambulance Association wish to thank all those who so heartily responded to our appeal for funds on Ambulance Saturday, to obtain an. ambulance carriage. The amount collected was £42 19s 6d, and there are stjUfHprte lists to .come in which sh(|Wbring it up to about and we nave since received a cheque for ,£5 ss from the Harbor Board; say a total of £50 with a credit in the bank of £&i. This will make about £m : iust about short of what we require. This is a good opportunity for some one who is willing to assist a good cause by subscribing the amount, viz, £100, to our funds, so that our committee will not have to wait another year before they can get sufficient money to provide for the comfortable removal of all those unfortunates who may meet with accident in the town or district. We also wish to thank the ladies for their valuable assistance as collectors^ and the press for the able manner in which tlicv put the case before the public on all occasions. E. J. JENKINS, lion. Sec. St. John's Ambulance Association, Greymouth Sub-division.
