GOLF.
A meeting of the general committee of the Grey Golf Club was held last evening. The resignation of Mr M. Angus, the popular secretary, was received, and after members had ex-, pressed the sincere regret that all feel at the projected departure of such a capable secretary and keen sport the resignation was accepted, and a vote of thanks to Mr Angus for his valuable services to the Club was carried unanimously. ■ ... Mr D. Carter, hon. treasurer of the Club, consented to take over the duties of secretary for the remainder of the present season. The committee intend inviting the Hokitika Club to play a friendly match at Greymouth at an early date, and it is to be hoped suitable arrangements can be made as these matches are most enjoyable. Next Saturday a niQn's medal con> petition will be played for a trophy presented by Mr Yarrall. •
