(Our Correspondent) * A meeting of the subscribers of the Runanga Library was hekl in the Druids' Hall on Thursday evening. Mr R. Semple chairman of the Beddon Memorial Committee was in the chair and about 60 were present. The report and balance sheet of the Seddon Memorial Committee was read and approved ofj and before going out of existence it was moved by Mr J. Glover, seconded by Mr Neilson that a hearty vote of thanks be accorded to the committee for its untiring exertions during the past two yeare. iThe mot'on -was carried iby acclamation. A report and" baiance sheet re the billiard table was also read and adopt ■cd. This ffien c table was got through the generous instrumentality of Mr Bishop and the report also recognised - the valuable help this gentleman had rendered to the memorial movement and the library, and Mr Semple on behalf of the subscribers, here presented Mr Bishop with a gold key as a momento of tihe pleasing function Mr Bishop performed in December in opening the Institute. The Chairman in a very able ad<Tress referred in com plimentary terms 'to the many and sub stantial services the General Manager of the State mine .had rendered to the movement. Mr Bishop returned his thanks to the meeting and trusted a" good committee would be elected to foster this fin institute which would have his best support in the future as in th© past. The billiard table had cost £117 (time payment), the general balance sheet showed receipts £119 17s and a credit balance of £56. j The following officers were then elected : — President: Mr James Bi&hop. VicePresident: Mr Jn Glover. Treasurer: Mr J. Liddlc. Secretary. Mr F O'Flynn. Management Committee: — Messrs J Southward, Geo. Wylde, W. Hall, Jas Rimmer, W. Warburton, N. Neale, W. Walworth, R. Glover, H. Coppersmith, J. Neilson, J. Ward.
