LADIES AND GENTLEMEN,--I beg to offer my services as a nember of the Westland Land Board, lid trust to be honored with your <.<mldence at the forthcoming ballot. ' As a son of the deceased noineer in and settlement and a Crown tenant, : in common with many oiaer landholders, feel that Crown tenants should lave representation on the Board. The Land Board in my opinion is >ne of the most responsible k<cal bod.es, and more largely affects- the vellarc of the people than any o-her body jii this Coast. : - . k iln the past it is a matter of common opinion that the Board has bf-cn lately dominated by officialdom^ and 1 j :an assure you that if elected, 1 will lot be a "silent member" wheu the iffairs of settlers are considered at he Board's meetings.
