Mr Bruce, Agricultural Insiructoi , of the -Grey and ■ Westland Eudcation Boards, left for Nelson last evening. Mrs Caimerbn Smith and Mr Allan Smith arrived home oh Saturday evening after- a holiday trip to- Christchurch and Wellington. .-" r -I '■••- It is with regret we "have to announce the. illness of Miss<* Ethel Blake, of . Rutherglen. The "young, lady,- who for some time past has resided in Westport, contracted some few weeks past a severe attack \of influenza. -When recovering she took a chill, and rheumatic fever set in. Finding her not improving her mother brought, her home last Monday, and had her placed in the Grey River Hospital, where under Dr % Mqrice's care she is receiving every kindness that can .be bestowed upon her. We therefore trust, being in such capable hands, and having youth in her favor, to hear of her speedy recovery. iM'iss Gertie Ohaanpdcm,. the once popular actnress, seeims to have given up the stage for good and' all.
