Miss Brebner leaves by the Arahura to-^day for N Dunedin. ; Mr King, Government auditor, is still engaged in sputhern towns. A son of Mr Rasmussen cut his arm badly at Lyell, and he had to procure medical aid. Probationer, nurse, Miss J. O'Brien, has resigned her position at the Reef- , ton Hospital. Miss May Blundell, daughter of Mr Louis Blundell, of Wellington, was married on Saturday last at Kobe, Japan, to Mr Noel W. Nelson, son of Canon Nelson, Auckland. The Rev Mr Rothwell, of Reefton; has been ordered by his medical adviser to move to a more genial atmosphere. Mr Rothwell, it is said, has received an invitation to a northern district. The many friends of Mrs D. Hyndman, of Stillwaiter, will be pleased to learn 'that she is making satisfactory progress at the hospital. Mrs Hyndman was operated on some weeks ago, and is now out of danger. The many friends of Mr T. W. Bruce, of Inchbonnie, will regret to learn that he is very ill suffering from a severe attack of influenza. He was admitted to the Grey River Hospital ! on Saturday . Mr A. C. Grant, stationma'ster... at Mangatadnoka, near Wellington, who is under orders to proceed to Ngahere, near Greymouth, has been presented by his friends at Mangatainoka with a dressing' case, a rug, and Gladstone bag, and a handsome gold bangle to Mars Grant. Mr R. Wallace, traveller for the Stewart Timber Co., of Wellington, ds reported to have netted £2500 by the purchase of a business in Blenheim, says the Westport Times. The agreement was that Mr Wallace was to pay ,£IO,OOO for the business, but after signing the-.vendor decided not •to give up, and re-purchased for ,612,400.
