WESTPORT COAL FIELDS.
WESTiPORT, Oct. 2. A rumor is persistent that a -neight foot seam of excellent coal has been struck by boring in the Fairdown Pakihis, just north of Westport. If the rumor is correct it will have a most important bearing on the development of tins district. Already there is a goodly advance in tihe price of property, which is mainly brought about by the improved prospects . of the place Trom a coal producing point of view. -
