. CHRISTOHURCH, July 24 Following are details . of the prices realised at to-day's Addington stock sales : : — • The yarding of fat cattle comprised 283 head. ■ Although there were a few excellent lines, the majority of the animals lacked finish. The demand at the opening was quiet, but improved as the sale progressed. Prices were —Steers £5 12s 6d to ,£u 17s 6d, heifers £4 17s 6d to ,£B.i2s 6d 3 cows £4 2s 6d tc 1 ss. Beef realised from 20s to 24s 6d per ioolb. There was a medium entry of fat lambs and the competition was keener than last week, although no advance in prices can be- recorded. Tegs realised from 19s to 22s 6d, ibest freezers 15s to 18s 6d, lighter 12s to 14s. The entry in the fat sheep pens was about equal to last week and the tone of the market throughout showed a distinct improvement. Freezers sold at prices equal 'to those ruling at previous sales, tout extra prime lines appreciably -advanced in values. The range of prices was: — Extra prime wethers 28s to 41s, prime 22s 6d to 275, lighter 18s to 22S^ unfinished 15s 3d to 17s 3d, prime ewes 20s to 245, medium 16s to 19s 6d, aged 13s to 15s 6d, prime merino wethers 19s gd others cjs 4d to 11s gd. The entry of store sheep was a small one, the yarding comprising about 2000 head, the larger part 'being hoggets. The sale throughout was animated, and competition was keen. Best hoggets realised 14s to 15s 4<J, others "us 6d to 13s 6d, half;bred ewes in lamnb (mixed ages) to 1.7s 6d. Very few store wethers came forward, and prices ranged from 14s to 1 6s. The entries of pigs in all classes were small, and an excellent sale resulted. Choppers realised £4 ios to ;£6, heavy ibaconers 65s to 755, medium 48s to 555, equal sd per IB flight porkers 38s to 465, smaller 28s to 35s equal to s^d to M per lib'; large stores made 28s to 355, smaller 18s to 255, weaners-Ss to 14s; sows in pig £3 10s to ios. The demand for stores was good 'throughout. .......
