The following matches were played on the Omoto links between Grey and Hokitika on Wednesday. The folio >ving are the" results : — The ladies' singles were 'played first several of the games being very close fights. The result was Hokitika g holes to 1 as follows: — . Miss Macfarlane 'beat Miss Kemple, 3 up. Mrs Acheson beat -Miss F. Berry 2 up. Mrs'.Widdop beat Mrs -Wilson 1 up. Mrs Williams and Miss Jay, all square. Miss L Malfroy beat Mrs E Thomas 2 up. Miss A. Malfroy •beat Miss Yarrall 2 up. In the men's singles, as Mr Davey was unable to attend, Mr Howie had to take his place at the last moment. In this competition the Hokitika men beat the Greymouth men by -18 holes to s as • under : — Mr Winchester beat Mr Howie 2 up ■Mr Newman beat Mr Denton, 7 up; Mr Wake beat Mr Widdpp, 3 up. Mr -Wilson beat Mr' Gillies, 1 'ug. ■Mr Eisefelder beat Mr'Flettiher, - 5 up Mr Thomas beat Mr Macfarlane, 5 up. . The mixed foursomes were, perhaps the most interesting contests of the day, both teams -being all square. j Miss Kemple and Mr Howie beat j Miss Macfarlane and Mr Winchester, I 1 up. Miss F.
