TOWN CLERK APPOINTMENT.
INVERCARGILL, July 6. The Borough Council to-night^oi the advice of its solicitors, proceeded
(to appoint a town clerk in accordance i with the Municipal Corporations' Act 'l their previous -method of ballotting not 1 being- in accrdance with law. On this occasion all the were not balloted. A motion that Mr T. W Walker, the former selection, be appointed being carried as against an amendment that another be; selected, . which found three supporters out of eleven. ■
