STORMY SITTING OF THE
DOUMA
A GENERAL STRIKE AT LODZ
ST. PETERSBURG, June 22 Sbchepkin, one of the Douma's commissioners, has obtained evidence that one of the minor police officials instigated and organised the Bielostok massacre, the higher officials and the military observing a benevolent neutrality. At a turbulent sitting the Douma) refused to tolerate Stolypin's defence and the arbitrary actions" of- the officials. Members hissed Stolypin and Prince Nrusoff. M. Pate, under-secretary for the Interior, in a remarkable speech declared that while occult influences remain cd. in virtual control of the Government no ministry, not even the Douma would be able to restore orcter. Propaganda and massacre would continue Stolypin's attempt to reply aroused such angry demonstrations that the sittings were suspended. A general strike has commenced at Lodz on the anniversary of N.-he outbreak of the - revolutionary disturbances.
