THE PROPOSED MEMORIAL

Matters in connection with the proposed''memorial in this town to. the late Mr Seddon will be taken up vig- 1 orbusly next week. Many prominent | men of the town and district have been in Wellington attending the funeral of our late Prime Minister and the public ' meeting to appoint a committee ana to discuss the form that the proposed memorial is to take^will be 'held as soon as they return. " -The meeting ' will be held either on Tuesday or Fri- 1 day night but arrangements as to date, hour and place of meeting will be duly .announced. We have decided to assist the committee to be formed in the matter of collecting^subscriptions and a list has been opened at the Argus Office. Any subscriptions sent to this office will be duly acknowledged and handed over to the committee appointed by the public meeting. The following subscriptions towards the Seddon Memorial in this town have been received — £ s d . W. W. C. J 10 o J. S. K. - 220
