Miss Oliver, M.A, of Christchurch who has been appointed to the vacant position in the Hokitika District High School, has arrived, and took up her duties on Monday, Mr J. Mandl (Mayor of Hokitika) Mr J. A. Murdoch (Mayor of Kumara) :Mr R. .Russel'U /(Mayor of Brunner) Mr S. R. Harris (chairman Grey County Council) were in town yesterday on Harbor Boari matters.
Mr A. R. Guinness, M.H.1?., and Mrs Guinness intend leaving for Canterbury on the 17th inst.^
Mr Gordon, Mr Robertson, Mr .Gunn, Mrs Harris, Miss Tainui, Mrs Uru, Mr Watson, Mr Thomas, Mrs Thomas, Mr Hyslop',' Mr Morton, Mr Prance, Mr Hicks, MiGardener, and Mr Wylde are passengers overland from Chritschurch and arrive this afternoon by the Otira train.
