THE PACIFIC CABLE.

Nothing To Fear From Wireles Telegraphy.

BRISBANE, Jan. 29

Mr Milward, chief electrician of the Pacific cable, arrived by the Miowera on his annual tour of inspection. He states that the cable is worjring exceedingly well and the traffic is satisfactory so far as ir goes. At an early date changer, were made regarding handling in messages placing the Pacific cable or the same footing as the Easteri; Extension Company. He consider: that cable companies have nothing to fear from wireless telegraphy ar there is a great deal of uncertainty about the system. It is also inucL slower. He considers it may prove useful in isolated places where there is insufficient inducement to lay ? cable.
