Merrett (sen). •Mr Petrie addresses the electors at Blackball' to-jnigPit at 7.30 o'clock; Granville, to-morrow at 1 p.m; Nobbs to-morrow at 5 p.m; Totara Flat, tomorrow at 7.30 p.m; Twelve Mile, en Friday at 6.30 p.m.; No Town on Friday at 8 p.m; sNelson Creek, on Saturday at 7.30 p.m. Mr Guinness speaks in the State School at Hatters Terrace at 8 p.m to-night. The New Zealand Times of Saturday in a forecast : of the result of the elections has the following regarding the Grey seat:—"Mr J. Petrie, Mayor of Greymouth, (sic) it is said, will beat Mr Guinness for Grey, the local feeling being strongjy in the former's favour. Against this, however, must be placed Mr Guinness's good Parliamentary record and his past services. A prominent West Coaster states that if the Speaker is returned it will be with few votes to spare." The Lyttelton Times of the same date has a similar paragraph, the same error being made in describing M,r Pertie, the candidate, as mayor of Greymouth. The Lyttelton Times's paragraph however, has not the sentence commencing, "Against this".
