Owing to the Mapourika's late departure from Wellington^ this week she will not arrive at Grey until Friday morning at 8 o'clock. She sails on her return at 9 30. The Chas Edward arrived from Westport yesterday morning. She left lier j for Westport on Saturday night, but was unable to g-'t coal at Westporfc, and loaded here for Foxton, sailing again at noon yesterday. The Wainui sailed at 7 o'clock yesterday morning for and nouh. The Pareora sailed last mght for Wellington with 650 tons of Blackball coal. The Kini with a load of timber and about 100 tons of Brunner coal Will sau for Lyttelton tcnight. The Rosamond sailed yesterday morning for Timai a with a load ef timber. The Oreli is due this morning from Picton to load State coal for the same P °T£effoo»yais duo from Dvme<?'*a and way ports to day. Owing to tho Pelone having to go on the slip at Wellington, she w.ll not be tack here this week. The result of the race between the schooners Annie Hi!l, Clyde and Lily lias been eaperly looked forward to by shipping enthusiasts, Our shipp-ig reporter received the following wire yesterday morning : " Lily first, Annie Hill second, no sign of Clyde." It will bo remembered thn Annie Hill left first on Thursday, the 19th, the Clyde on the 20th, and the Lily on the 21st. Captain Bloom is to be congratulated on h:s win.
