NEW PLYMOUTH, April 18. Tlie body of a, man named Henbert Gower, of Patea, lost overboard from the Rarawea on Wednesday was found at the break water this afternoon. Mr George Laurenson addressed his constituents to-night. He spoke at length on Education, Defence, and Prohibition. He favoured a ibare majority on the licensing issue,' and said he felt sure prohibition would 'bo carried in Lyttelton. At 'Hie conclusion he received "i vcte of tlianks and confidence. ■CHRISTOHtmOH, April 18. At the Lyttelton Court to-day W. H. F. Nott was charged with liaving on the 17th inst attempted to discharge a gun loaded vrfitii powder and shot at his father. He was remanded till to-mor-row, bub bail was not allowed.
