.a (per press association Wellington, October 3, The schedule of the business transacted during the session shows that 32 select committees were set up, 93 bills received the Royal assent, 84 public bilis svere dropped ac otherwise disposed of, one private bill received the Roya! assent and one was dropped; 487 petitions were presented, 889 questions were asked of Ministers ; 224 papers were laid on the table and 314 reports were received from select committees. The House met on 57 days, the average length of the daily sittings being 8 hours 1 1 minutes.
