TRANSVAAL WAR
(PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.) (BY BLBOTRIC TELEGRAPH — COPYRIGHT London, August 23. A military order has been issued closing the country stores in the Queenstown district, Cape Colony. It requires goods likely to be used -by the enemy to be taken to certain towns, and forbids country residents to possess more than a week's provisions. Ij Kitchener in a despatch- regarding the progress of the war referred to the delays in operations between April and June through the necessity *of training the new Yeomanry, many, being unable to ride or shoot. Afterwards satisfactory progress was made. Wellington, August 23. Colonel Porter, of the 7th Contin* gent, cables to the Pieinier that the Contingent is well and he will be all right in a sew days ; also that Private Donnelly was wounded in t!ie leg slightly, and that Sergt Keddell met with a horse accident while in action.
