(rER rr.Ess association.) Wellington, August 21. Thomas Ramsay and Edward Bu.rotts were found guilty at the Sup. erne Court of being rogues and vagabonds. These are the men who were arrested in June last on a charge of dynamiting the safe of a hotel at Lyttelton. They « ere found to nave a number of burglars' tools in I heir possession and a considerable sum of money. As sufficient evidence was not forthcoming that charge dropped an<! the po'ice proceeded with the charge on which the prisoners are now convicted. Tho Chief Justice said that he concurred in the verdict and you'd / inflict the maximum penalty of one year's impi isonment. Auckland, August 21. At the Supreme Court Mr Reed, Counsel for Dr. Wilkins, 'applied that the manslaughter against accused be taken next week. He said that To keep his client in suspense till November, as suggested, would amount to positive cruelty. His Honor said he considered that the accused person had a right to demand a new trial at once His Honor fixed the trial for next Monday.
