Wanganui Band Contest
(per press association.) Wanganui, March 16. The marching competition was witnessed by a large crowd. The results are :— Wanganui Garrison— Music 76, marching 288 ; total, 346. WoodviHe— Music 66, marching 269 j total, 335. New Plymouth — Music 66, marching 265 ; total, 331. Palmarston North— Music 66, marching 259 ; total, 325. jtfasterton- Muaic 74, marching 248 ; total. 322. ntt L L . Petone -Music 75, marc ng 244 ; total 319 The contest concluded to-night. The result of the Championship is : — Wanganui, 357 ' Masterton (disqualified) 355 Petone, 317 New Plymouth, 306 Palmersbon, 304 Woodville, 288 There was a great crowd at the Opera House, and the contest was a great success.
