Dredging Notes.

The news of the return from the Grey River Go's dredge on Saturday afternoon caused quite a pleasant ripple of hearty satisfaction, and men congratulated each other on the big fact that the return from the iirst dredge that has got fairly to work on the Grey River would probably give the biggest yield for any dredge in the colony for that week at any rate. The exact return for the week, or rather 124 hours actual dredging, is 107 ozs 19 dwts The gold is an excellent sample and made a nice display in Mr Shilton's window, the fine gold being heaped in the centre of a ring of the coarse gold. As it is of a high orange color, usually a good test of the quality of gold, it ought to command something like L 4 an ounce. The yield of the Waipun« dredge is 10 ozs 11 dwts for 110 hours.
