STANBURY'S EXPLANATION.
Albany, Ootober 11. Sta&bary, ex- champion scalier, arrived by the Orubi. In the courae of an Interview he said he was in good form, until within three days of the race with Gaudaur, but then he strained his back. He kept the fact of the aooident to himself, and to that mishap he attributed his defeat by the Toronto man.
