(per press Association.) Wellington, July 14. The Govern meat haß served notioe of confiscation upon Harria, solicitor, as representative of the Midland Railway Company. The only method by whioh the Company can etlllkeep alive any claim for the expenditure of L 1,100,000 that it made is by paying ths amount of expenditure incurred by Government on the line since its seizure. This amount is not stated in the notioe of confiscation, but it is believed to be about L4OOO. This I most be paid within three months. 1 ■ .
