Owing to the burning of the cloak room at the Spencer street railway station, passengers have sent in claims amounting to L4OOO. Government have decided to'exhibit at the Royal Agricultural Show in England in June. Brisbane, February 10. The Rockhampton shearers have held a meeting at which resolutions were passed, deprecating the refusal of the pastoralists to agree to a grand open conference. It was asserted that the introduction of free shearers is calculated to provoke a serious breach of peace. Over a thousand men are idle. (Received February 11, at 12 50 p m. Sydney, February 10. The Miners' Association have forwarded a further donation of L2OO in aid of the Denniaton (N.Z.) miners. Adelaide, February 10. The new cable' agreement cornea into operation on April Ist. In the event of the termination of the agreement at the end of the year the old rates will be resorted to, excepting the public rate, whioh will be 8a par word instead of 9s 4d.
