Guinness, Esq, and others elsewhere, that West Coast coal was not obtainable by dealers without buying an equal quantity of Newcastle coal is wholly untrue, as regards Greymouth coal. We have always done our utmost to extend sales unconditionally, and at prices no higher than usually paid for Newcastle coal. FOREIGN EXPORT.— We are quoting specially low rates for foreign export, f.o.b. at Greymouth, or for transhipment at Wellington or any other port in the colony ; despatch guaranteed. CHARTERS.— We want tonnage for Port Pirie, Hongkong, Iquique, loading as above. The British barque "MERSEY," 260 ft long, 963 tons nett register, left Greymouth August last for Port Pirie, with a full cargo of coke and coal, about 1800 tons measurement. DEPOTS.— We have depots at Wellington, Lyttelton, Christchurch, and Danedin, from which the trade and consumers are supplied, wholesale or retail, from yards or direct from steamers or hulks.
