THE SUTHERLAND FALIS.

(per press association.) Wellington, October 28. Mr J. C. M'Kerrow, Surveyor-General, this morning received a telegram from Mr C. W. Adams, chief Burveyor of Otago, stating that the latter gentleman had just returned from a visit to the great Sutherland Waterfall. Mr Adaraa reporta that the fall ia 1904 ft high, with a volume of water equal to the Bowen Fall at Milford Sound. The water strikes the rock precipice twice in its descent forming three leaps, the upper one being 815 ft high, the middle 751 ft, ahd the lower 338 ft. Mr Adams adds that the surroundings are picturesque, and adds another to the many beautiful scenes of New Zealand.
