The Victoria Amateur Turf Club's Caulfield Cup Meeting commenced l o-day, The weather was exceedingly fine, aud ia consequence there^ was a )arge attendance of the public. The following are the results of the various events : — CATJMIELD STAKES, One mile and a quarter and a distance. Cranbrook 1 Silvermine ... 2 Dunlop 3 Won easily. HANDICAP HURDLE RACE, Two miles. Woolgai 1 Canon 2 Aristocrat 3 Won easily. GREAT FOAL STAKES, Four furlongs. Lady Betty + Consequence ... t Hegira 3 Lady Hetty and Consequence ran a dead heat. Time, 52£secB. The owners divide the Btakes. CATJLFIELD GUINEAS, One mile. Carlyon 1 Pakeha 2 Escutcheon 3 A good start was effected. Escutcheon, Perhaps Pakeha, Bowmont, and Boaz getting first away, Carlyon being las*. At the far side of the course Perhaps, Boaz, and Escutcheon drew ahead, Carlyon lying next, then Hortense. As the horses entered the straight, Carlyon ran up and took the lead, with Pakeha well up, followed by Escutcheon, none of the others occupying any prominent position. A splendid finish ensued all the way up the straight, Carlyon eventually winning by a length from Pakeha, Escutcheon (close up), third. Correct time, lmin 47|secs. AUSTRALIAN HUNTERS CUP, About two miles md a quarter. Big Ben (late the Joker) ... 1 Ban?le (late Bailiff) 2 Planet 3 Won by a length and a half. TOORAK HANDICAP, Onp mile. Dufferin 1 Lord Allen 2 St. John 3 Time, lmin 45|aec3. Teddy Yuille and others also ran.
