A NEWSPAPER LIBEL CASE.

Wellington, July 28. In the R.M. Court A. G. Hoskins, publisher and proprietor of the Wellington Advertiser, was committed for trial for an alleged libel on Sir J. Yogel. The alleged libel was contained in an article imputing gross jobbery and. corruption to Yogel in connection with the sale of debentures of the Waimate railway. Certain admissions as to the publication were made, but no evidence was taken. Bail was allowed to defendant on his own recogniasance for £100.
