THE NATIVE RESERVES DEPUTATION.

[prom our correspondent.]

Wellington, July 26. The following telegram is from Mr W. H. Jones: —

The deputation arrived this morning, and we immediately sought for Mr Guinness, but did not meet him until 2.30 p.m. It has been arranged that a meeting of all the West Coast members will be held to-morrow morning. I fear that we cannot rely much on the support of Mr Seddon and Mr Bevan, as the bill suits their reserves ; but we expect considerable supporc to our cause from Mr Bryceand his friends. Ido not think there is any probability of the original bi'l passing, but am doubtful that in the face of our opposition any bill will pass this session.
