The s.s. Charles Edward arrived in port yesterday morning from Hokitika, and sailed again in the evening. The B.s. Maori arrived from Wellington yesterday morning, loaded up with coal, and left in the evening. With refer jnce to the Pacific Steam Navigation Company's new steamship intended for the trade between London, Melbourne, and Sydney, the Liverpool Journal of Commerce of May 6 has the following : — One of the largest steamers ever built by the Barrow Shipbuilding Company haa just been completed, and the launch took place recently. The vessel is named the Orizaba. She is 460 ft in length, 6500 tons gross register, and 6000 hors^ power. A special request has been made f,o the builders to prepare a model of the vessel to be presented, in a beautiful casket, to Her Majesty when she opens the Liverpool Exhibition.
