The annual meeting of the Association was held in the drill shed tc -right, there b" 1^ a very large attendance, Capta : n Sc nmerville occupying the chair. Theeleci.'on of a managing committee was proceeded with, when the following were e'ec'ed : — Captain icheson, Riverton, Major Mah on, Auckland, Captain Martin, Christchurch, Captain M'Erdie, Wellington, Captain Rogers, Blenheim, Lieutenant Richardson, North Dunedin, Lieutenant Ross, Napier, Captain Sommerville, Wanganui, Captain Watt, Y/anganui, for Nelson, Captain Wildman, Thames. The chairman read the report of the financial position of the Association, estimating that there would be a balance in hand in favor of the Association of between L6O and L7O. Lieutenant Collins, of Wellington, was unanimously re-elected treasurer. Some discussion ensued as to where the next meeting should be held, and the meeting was moved that Christchurch should be selected, providing a suitable range could be obtained. A counter resolution was moved that next meeting be held at Blenheim. On being put to the meeting, the motion in favor of Christchurch was carried by 78 to 75. A motion was carried that the chairman be requested to make application to Government for a supply of Martini-Enfield Rifles to be issued to all competitors three months prior to the annual competition and returned to store immediately afterwards. accorded to Captain Sommerville for the manner in which he had carried out the arrangements for this meeting of the association, and thesum of thirty guineas was voted with which to purchase a trophy to be presented to him in recognition of such services. Votes of -thanks were also accorded to the members of the Btaff and the treasurer. The meeting expressed great satisfaction at the manner in which the whole arrangements had been carried out.
