BRUNNERTON.
[from our correspondent.] Brctnnerton, January 19. A public meeting was held at Jones's Empire Hotel, Wallsend, this evening, for I the purpose of electing three trustees to ' the Doboon Recreation Reserve. Mr Taylor, Councillor for the District, explained the object of the meeting, and said that he was prepared to receive nominations from any one present, when the following gentlemen were proposed : — Mr T. A. Jones, Mr R. Schofield, Mr H. Denhard. It was proposed and carried that in the opinion of this meeting three trustees would be sufficient, one from each village in the district, not six from one district and three from the others. As there was but fire acres reserved they hoped Mr Taylor would suggest it to the Council. Mr Taylor thanked them for their attendance, and promised to bring it before the Council. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting. Taylorville, January 20. A public meeting was held at Pearn's Bucks Head Hotel this evening at 8 o'clock to nominate three trustees for the Dobson Recreation Reserve. Mr Andrews, who was inthe chair, briefly explained the object of the meeting and called Mr Taylor to receive the nominations, when the following resolution was carried : — That they decline to have anything to do with the trust, as it would be against their own interest. A vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting. *
