THE LABORER AND HIS HEIRE.

[to the editor.] Sir, — In answer to the Dobson Town correspondent re the 25 per cent, I may Btate for his information that at a meeting at Dobson Town it was proposed to pay two men 6s a day each to canvass the Grey district for subscriptions, and if I mistake not it was the Dobson Town corresp->ndent who objected, when it was agreed to give any one who would undertake the task of collecting 25 per cent. The total amount collected was £13 103 cash, and goods to the amount of £7 10s. Well, as I received for my services only £3 53, if he can make 25 per cent out of that it is more than I can. — I am, &c, Collector. Dobson Town, January 18.
