:■;: ■...-,:■■ Dunedin, December 18. * A wruY of Via&eas corpus was granted to ..M. J. , v Crowe,,who was imprisoned for fraud in connection with his bankruptcy. The" Judge thought he was wrongly sent to gaol, as no order was made as purported to have been ; made under Sbction 171 in the .first instance, and he was wrongly detained in custody, both on the. ground thas.the second order was bad on itsface,= and if it were good.it was not mjade till long, after, the imprisonment 'commencedi arid could not take effect /jmwic pp tune. The. prisoner was discharged, | no costs being allowed.
