An application for a writ of habeas corpus in the case of Michael John Crow, committed at Invercargill by Judge Ward, came before Judge .Williams to-day. Haggitt, for the Crown, contended that the Court could not enter into an enquiry as to what had taken place in the District Court, but only on what appeared on the face of the warrant/ Since the rule was made a second order had been filed.
