December 5. At the coroner's inquest held yesterday at Takapou, on the body of the newlyborn infant of Agnes Moran, the evidence showed that the child had lived, but had apparently been smothered in some way immediately after birth, whether intentionally or not will be decided in the Supreme Court, as the verdict is considered to be something, practically one of manslaughter.
