Tlie ropurfc f-tated that the :;.-.'ctors wore not in a position to present to the shareholders a formal report owing to the refractory nature of the Thames ores, whic^, contrary to expectations of Mr Lamonte, require to be roasted before smelting. Roasting plant is being erected speedily. _ The smelting process is on its trial, but it proved a marked success at the Sunny Corner. The directors are sanguine that it will be equally successful here. The Thames goldfields ores are the richest so far of the ores tested from the upper country, and have given richer returns than those at the Sunny Corner. The old directors were re-elected.
