Dunedin, November 18,

At a meeting of the National Insurance Company, J. M. Kitchie presiding, on the motion to adopt the balance sheet being proposed an amendment was moved by Walter to declare a dividend. The amendment was carried on the show of hands, but lost by a large majority on the poll, a number of shareholders walking out of the room. Messrs GUendining, Hallenstein, Kempthorne, and Edmund Smith were elected directors.
