(Received November 18, at 10 p.m.) FOLLOWING UP THE MASSACRE

Sydney, November 18,

Admiral Tryon instructed the captain of H.M.S. Opal to proceed with his vessel to New Guinea forthwith. On the arrival of the Opal at her destination, a search will be made for traces of the Geographical Society's expedition, and if the reported massacre is found to bo true prompt measures will be taken to punish the murderers.
