(Received November 17, at 1 a.m.) THE NEW GUINEA MASSACRE. Melbourne, November 17. The Victorian Government have taken steps to urge the Imperial Government to empower Sir Peter Scratchley, High Commissioner of New Guinnea, to punish the murderers of the Australian Geographical Society's exploring expedition.
(Received November 17, at 10.30 p.m.) NEW SOUTH WALES PARLIAMENT. Sydney, November 17. The New South Wales Parliament asspmbled to-day. The newly elected members of the "Legislative Assembly having been sfforn in by the Speaker, the Hon. Edward Barton, the House adjourned. The Opposition members are in a majority, but the course of action they will adopt has not transpirad. Sir Henry Parkes took the opportunity this afternoon to announce his claims to the Premie ship.
