DEEDS, NOT WORDS.

[to the editor.]

Sir, — Kindly allow me space to make a few remarks on a letter written by Mrs Herrick and published on the 10th thanking the officers of the Grey River d ospital for their kindness to her late lamented husband. I hive no doubt but these officers deserve all the thanks they get, but this Mother Seigel's Syrup sort of testimonial will not keep the pot boiling. If Mrs Herrick wants to show her appreciation of the kindness received by her late husband, why not do it in a more substantial way ? It is well known that she is in a good position to do so. Under these circumstances it is to be hoped that Mrs Herrick will see her way to give something handsome to an institution that she tells the public that herself and late respected husband were so well treated in.— I am, &c, Jack Blunt. Nelson Creek, 14th November 1885.
