[from our correspondent.] Reepton, October 31. The following are the week's gold returns : — Keep-it-Dark, 6030z. from 209 tons. Inkerman, 1350z for 3| days. Globe and Alpine cleaning up. THE INDIAN AND COLONIAL EXHIBITION. — ♦ [united press association.] Christchurch, October 30. Dr Von Haast, the New Zealand Commissioner for the Indian and Colonial Exhibition, ha 3 received entries of exhibits from various parts of the colony as follows : — No. of Value. Exhibitors. £ Thames (approximate) 15 ... 300 Auckland 65 ... 3.258 New Plymouth ... 5 ... 144 Wanganui ... ... 11 ... 320 Hawkesßay 5 ... 55 Wellington 61 ... 7,580 Nelson 8 .., 593 Marlborough 4 ... 80 Christchurch 41 ... 4,085 Titnaru ..: ... 4 ... 33 Oamaru 2 ... 29 Dunedin 46 ... 3,791 Invercargill 15 ... 326 Total , , 282 Z 20,594 ■> This does not includa the mining exhibits nor the building stones, which, so far as information already receivd goes, will be represented by about 80 exhibitors. Wool, grain, seeds, and other farm produce are also not included in the above. They can, however, be safely estimated at 250 exhibitors, so thai New Zealand will be'represented by 600 exhibitors in all. There will be also exhibits of New Zealand fruit, but the applications, except two from Auckland, have not yet arrived.
