Mile and a quarter, for three year olds and upwards. O'Brien's Trenton 1 Loughman's Sheet Anchor ... 2 Wilson's Ringmaster ... 3 Won by a length. Time, 2 mins 16£ sacs. Eight started. Liverpool did not run. WEIGHT FOR AGE HURDLE RACE, About two miles. ; Hart's The Agent ... ... 1 Pearson's Gasalier 2 Cripps's Duration 3 Won by three quarters of a length. Time, 3 mins. 55| sees. MARIYBYRNONG PLATE, Five furlongs. White's Acme... 1 Watson's Madelina 2 Cooper's Blairgowrie 3 Sixteen horses started. Halcion, Essie, Blairgowrie, Acme, and Damocles got away first, and ran in company till crossing the tan, when Acme came away from the field, and was never headed, winning easily by three lengths. Madelina came with a rush near home, and managed to secure second honors from Blairgowrie by a head. Time, 1 mm. 4£ sees. SELLING RACE, ; Seven furlongs. Warnes's Albanus 1 . Coffey's Scaramouch .„ 2 Virago... ... 3 It was a splendid finish, Albanus beating Scaramouch by a long neck. Ten started. Time, 1 mm. 31 sees. THE VICTORIAN DERBY, One mile and a half, for three-year olds. Colts, Bst 101 b ; fillies, Bst 51b. White's Nordenfeldt 1 Kelso's First Chester ... 2 Robinson's Winchester ... 3 Time, 2 mins. 48 sees. The following horses also started : — Remus, Dunlop, "Isonomy, Thunderbolt, and Uralla. Ringmaster and Crystal were scratched. A good start was effected, Nordenfeldt .being first away ; but he was soon passed by Isonomy, who led all the way into the straight, where First Chester, Thunderbolt, and Winchester came up, and a splendid : race ensued between the first two named and Norclenfel tt. The latter, however, managed to land home half a head in front of First Chester and Thunderbolt ying fourth in order. The closeness of the contest »aye rise to most intense excitement, as the finish was so close that it was doubtful which was the winner until the official numbers were hoisted ; and ib was intensified by the fact that the winner was twice wrongly posted. The following was the betting at the post :— Nordenfeldt five to four, Dunlop four to one, Thunderbolt five to one, Isonomy and Uralla six to o^e, First Chester, Winchester, and Remus ton to one. COBURG STAKES, One mile and a half. Jones's Bohemian ; 1 Crozier's Lantern 2 Pearson's Parody 3 Nineteen started. The race was won easily by half a length. Time, 1 mm. 59J sees. HOTHAM HANDICAP, Three years old and upwards, a mile and a half and a distance. Davis's Lesbia 1 Whittingham's Nuntmore ... 2 Harris's Signor 3 Thirteen started, and the race was won by half a length. Time, 2 mins. 47 sees.
