ROBBING A SALVATION HALL,
Last night the Salvation Army Hall, Madras street, was broken into, an entrance having been effected through the front window. Plunder was evidently the object of the perpetrator, who, however, only succeeded in obtaining the sum of 3s lOd, for which he had to break open two or three locks and take considerable more trouble than the money was worth. It is supposed that the burglar thought he would secure the results of a collection which had been made at the previous service in aid of tho building fund, and which, it is stated, had realised £30. Fortunately, however, the money had been removed.
