FIRE.

A fire broke out in the Cosmopolitan Hotel early yesterday morning. It was unoccupied, the license having been withdrawn. The origin of the fire is unknown, but it occurred among some old packing cases and straw envelopes for bottlesiin the storeroom behind the bar. The police suppressed the fire before it got hold. The building is insured for the proprietor, Mrs Sullivan, for £1500 in the National. It is stated that the Insurance Companies interested intend to reward the police concerned.
