Opal, commissioned to relieve Eepiegle on the Australian station, ■reached Sydney on the 6th inst. The .Opal carries a complement of 232 officers and men, all told. The Opal is of; the Gem class, and is 230 ft in length, 40ft beam, 19ft draught, and 2121^ tons displacement. The engines are ;of 2190 horse-power indicated, and are ■ capable of driving the vessel at the rate of 13g knots an hour.
